SUMMARY:Safer Alternatives to Toxic Solvents and Toxic Ingredients - Dry Ice Cleaning
DESCRIPTION:greenUP! and Western Nevada College are hosting a Webinar Series that will cover 1) navigating the Safer Choice label to get more industrially relevant products and 2) replacing toxic products and minimizing impacts to human health and the environment. \nScientist Dr. Katy Wolf will talk about alternatives explored including soy-based cleaners\, hydrocarbon with no aromatic component\, acetone and acetone products\, and dry ice cleaning and stripping. Suppliers and formulators will join Katy in the presentations. \nThe June 18 Webinar covers dry ice blasting and dry ice liquid cleaning as safer alternatives to toxic\, high-VOC content solvents.  Case studies will be presented for a variety of cleaning and stripping applications.

We work with small to medium-sized businesses to offer free assistance and recognize efforts that save energy and water\, reduce waste\, prevent pollution and stormwater impacts\, and encourage better commute options. We offer a checklist of best practices that businesses can implement\, and we certify businesses that meet minimum thresholds of environmental performance.
