SUMMARY:Webinar: Employees and Buildings – Office Spaces on the Move
DESCRIPTION:During COVID\, many office building workers were required to work from home. Today\, while the COVID threat is passing\, many offices are continuing to work remotely. \nThis webinar hosted by the Sustainable Building Coalition and Nevada Green Business Network addresses the practical challenges of a remote workforce. How do we continue to engage employees in sustainability practices? Are there ways that employees can reduce energy\, water and waste from home? How do we keep enthusiasm alive for sustainability as a work community? \nSpeakers: \nSuzanne Groneman from the City of Reno will discuss key considerations regarding sustainability initiatives with a remote workforce. The City will share their experience with building closures\, employee engagement both on and offsite\, and lessons learned. \nMike Matheus from McKinstry will also represent the Sustainable Building Coalition. Mike will provide stats on buildings (%) that have moved their employees to remote locations and measures to reduce energy usage due to reduced occupancy. Mike will explore trends for occupation of office buildings and creative ideas to keep buildings occupied (such as shared workspaces). \nSara DeAngelo\, Energy Advisor for Rising Sun Energy Solutions (an Associated Protected Series of AO Energy) will provide a case study on the impact of a remote team. From a corporate wide standpoint\, what adjustments are being made in terms of commuting\, reporting\, accountability and measurement? \nDonna Walden from the Nevada Green Business Network will discuss a variety of strategies to keep employees engaged using games and contests.
