Greening Nevada Video Series

Greening Nevada is a video series featuring businesses and manufacturers with good environmental practices that reduce waste and minimize pollution. The purpose for the show is to demonstrate how sustainable communities will increase economic prosperity and help Nevada transition to a thriving, green economy. Donna Walden from greenUP! and Erica Gallegos from Western Nevada College are the series hosts. As part of this show, we will feature businesses from a variety of fields. We will showcase the Nevada Green business program and partners who are committed to working with businesses to improve the environmental performance of their operations. We will also feature experts and visionaries in the field of sustainability. Our hope is that this show inspires everyone to take positive action to preserve our planet.

James Vandegrift, General Manager of Cucina Lupo, an Italian restaurant by Chef Mark Estee and Kacie DeCruz co-owner of So Juicy, a restaurant focused on health, quality and integrity are interviewed about environmental practices at their establishments.

Patty talks about the recycling rate in Nevada, some innovative programs designed to increase recycling across the state and her vision for the future of sustainability in Nevada.

The Golden Pinecone Awards is a legacy event and tradition within the environmental community since 1988 that recognizes the hardworking businesses, organizations, and individuals that make our community healthier, safer, and more sustainable. The 2020 awards were inspired by the City of Reno Sustainability and Climate Action Plan. The eleven (11) 2020 award winners are featured.
